Job Overview:
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant café team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and experience in food and beverage preparation. As a key member of our team, you will create a welcoming environment for customers while preparing high-quality beverages and food items. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages and other drinks according to company standards.
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS efficiently for order processing and cash handling.
- Manage customer orders with accuracy, ensuring timely service during busy hours.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and seating areas.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties.
- Ensure food safety standards are met by following proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Assist with food preparation and serving as needed, including light food handling tasks.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers professionally and courteously.
- Manage time effectively to handle multiple orders during peak hours while maintaining quality standards.
- Support sales efforts by upselling products and promoting specials or new items.
Requirements:
- Previous barista experience or background in the food industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Excellent time management skills to handle high-volume periods efficiently.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and accurate order processing.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
