Job Title: Lifeguard – Lake George.
Location: Lake George, NY (various beaches and aquatic facilities).
Summary SGA is seeking observant and safety-minded lifeguards to join our team at the best beaches in the Lake George area. You will help ensure the safety of visitors, enforce rules and policies, assist with swimming lessons, maintain facility cleanliness, monitor pool temperatures and equipment, and respond to emergencies as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee activities at designated aquatic facilities and beaches.
- Explain, enforce, and model safety rules, regulations, and policies to patrons.
- Monitor swimming areas for signs of danger; warn swimmers about unsafe conditions.
- Enforce policies on showers, attire, and facility conduct; maintain order in swimming areas.
- Assist with swimming lessons and provide guidance as appropriate.
- Inspect swimming pool areas, locker rooms, and restrooms to maintain cleanliness and safety.
- Maintain pool equipment and monitor/record pool temperatures.
- Respond to emergencies and provide rescue and first aid as needed (CPR/First Aid/AED as certified).
- Perform routine records and reports (incident reports, temperature logs, maintenance checks).
- Ensure a welcoming, respectful environment for patrons of all ages and backgrounds.
- Work collaboratively with other lifeguards, staff, and management to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
- 16 years of age or older.
- Completion of lifeguard training (lifeguard certification from a recognized program).
- First Aid and CPR certification (AED certification preferred).
- 1+ month of related experience (lifeguarding, pool/beach operations, or similar).
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with people of diverse ages and backgrounds.
- Availability to work assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physically fit, strong, agile, and able to perform water rescues and rescue techniques as trained.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
- AED certification.
- Experience with water safety instruction or swimming lessons.
- Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patrons.
