Executive Search Team:  SGA Talent – SGA Hospitality

Overview SGA Talent - SGA Hospitality, is recruiting  Executive Chefs for two distinct NYC clients. The Executive Chef will lead all culinary operations, stewarding profitability, quality, and guest satisfaction across multiple outlets. This role requires hands-on leadership, strategic menu development, strong cost control, and a focus on training, standards, and sanitation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate all aspects of food production across the client's outlets, ensuring high quality products and service levels.
  • Partner with F&B leadership to align on strategy, promotions, and standards; communicate issues and opportunities to senior management in a timely manner.
  • Design, implement, and refresh menus in collaboration with the Director of F&B; oversee menu engineering, portion control, recipes, and presentation standards.
  • Monitor and control food and labor costs; compute daily food cost, develop and manage par stock levels, and oversee purchasing, receiving, and inventory processes.
  • Develop, train, and mentor culinary staff; conduct performance reviews and ensure adherence to company standards for quality, sanitation, and safety.
  • Enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all outlets; ensure compliance with health department regulations and liquor laws.
  • Respond promptly to guest feedback and resolve issues to maintain guest satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Manage daily kitchen operations, including staffing, scheduling, and coordination with Stewarding and Engineering for maintenance needs.
  • Lead and participate in required M.O.D. (Manager on Duty) duties as scheduled.
  • Prepare and submit timely reports (wage progress, payroll, revenue, schedules, action plans, etc.) and assist in the preparation of required management reports.
  • Assist catering sales with special menus and pricing structures; participate in new client proposals and menu development for prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with F&B leadership to implement corporate promotions, buffet concepts, and multi-meal offerings.

Qualifications:
  • Culinary degree (2-year, 3-year, or 4-year) with at least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel, restaurant, conference, or catering environment; supervisory/managerial experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, and liquor laws.
  • Proven ability to manage food and labor costs, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong leadership, training, and staff development capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and guests.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to perform required tasks, including light to moderate lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • Commitment to high standards of personal appearance and professional demeanor.
  • Availability for long hours and flexible scheduling as needed.
